2007 Event with the mentally handicapped kids from Fe & Alegria

The youth club organized an interactive event with the kids in Fe & Alegria. We saw great talents among the kids especially when they started dancing...couldn't help but you had to dance with them when the music started rolling though it was difficult for the Singaporeans, we did participate together!:)

El club de jóvenes organizó un evento interactivo con los niños de Fe & Luz. Observamos grandes talentos entre los niños, especialmente cuando empezaron a bailar… no podíamos ayudarlos pero teníamos que bailar con ellos cuando la música empezaba a sonar. Fue difícil para los singapurenses, ¡pero sí participamos juntos! J

2006 Project in Manthoc school

Kids were awarded for their performance at the end of the cycle of the English classes with them. We had a small celebration with them for their success.

2006 Christmas Celebration with kids in Sagrada Familia

It was an unforgettable event with about 40 kids, who attended English classes throughout the year, organized by the youth in our club and professionals. Everyone put in effort in the collection of toys, preparing for the event, leading the games and show for the kids.

2006 Visit kids in Sagrada Familia with International Volunteer

We brought some panetones and chocolate milk for the kids, who had been attending English classes with us, in this visit. They were surprise. Cos' usually it was a custom to eat paneton and drink chocolate milk during Christmas. Our youths in Gen ACTS Club had a really great compassionate hearts for kids. They organized a few events with the kids in Sagrada Familia in Zapallel. From origami to games and Children's Day party for them.

2004 Sharon Ng, an international volunteer's experience in Lima, Peru

Ever since I came back to Singapore, many people have eagerly asked me “So how do you feel? Tell us about your experi-ence!” Well I have to say that it is something that is difficult to be described in a few words. It is unique, amazing and fulfilling. It is an experience that has become an important chapter in my life. Everything kind of started from zero when I first reached Peru. It was tough initially; to be away from home and alone in a foreign place, the cultural difference and language barrier etc. It was like learning how to walk all over again. Desde que regresé a Singapur, mucha gente me ha preguntado ansiosamente “Y, ¿Cómo te sientes? ¡Cuéntanos sobre tu experi-encia!” Bueno, lo único que puedo decir es que es algo difícil de describir en pocas palabras. Es algo único, asombroso y lleno de satisfacción. Es una experiencia que se ha convertido en un capítulo muy importante en mi vida. Todo empezó casi de cero, cuando recién llegué a Perú. Al inicio fue muy duro; estar lejos de mi hogar y sola en un lugar extranjero, las diferencias culturales, el idioma, etc. Era como aprender a caminar otra vez. 2004 Clothes & Toys Collection for Kids

In this project, with the collaboration with local Peruvian volunteers from a church, Esperanza de Dios, we collected clothes and toys for the kids in Colegio Mision Integral. We took this opportunity to share the spirit of Christmas with them with their traditional panetones and chocolate caliente.

Este proyecto contó con la colaboración de voluntarios peruanos de una iglesia, Esperanza de Dios. Recolectamos ropas y juguetes para los niños del Colegio Misión Integral. Aprovechamos esta oportunidad para compartir el verdadero espíritu de la Navidad con ellos, por supuesto con sus tradicionales panetones y chocolate caliente.

2004 Project ImpACTS with Colegio Mision Integral

In 2004, we travelled 1 1/2 hours every Saturday to and fro a shatty town in Pachacutec, where we taught about 20 kids, from 3 to 6 years old, in a small school called the Colegio Mision Integral. Whenever we passed by sandy paths and bumpy roads, it will always remind us of the precious time that we spent with the "hungry to learn" kids in this place.

En el 2004, viajábamos una hora y media, cada sábado a un pueblo joven en Pachacútec, donde enseñábamos a 20 niños entre las edades de 3 a 6 años, en un pequeño colegio llamado Misión Integral. Cada vez que pasamos por caminos arenosos y pistas llenas de baches, recordamos aquellos preciosos momentos que pasábamos con estos niños “ansiosos de aprender” en ese lugar.

2003 Project ImpACTS with Hogar de Niños de Prada

This is our first project with a local organization, Hogar de Niños de Prada, a Home for the abandoned kids. We taught English to some 60 kids from 6 to 12 years old. It is a memorable experience for the 5 social entrepreneurs from Singapore. The kids' eagerness to learn and their enthusiasm really touched our hearts.

Este es nuestro primer proyecto con una organización local, Hogar de Niños de Prada, una casa hogar para niños abandonados. Enseñamos inglés aproximadamente a 60 niños entre los 6 a 12 años de edad. Fue una experiencia memorable para los 5 emprendedores sociales singapurenses. Las ganas por aprender de los niños y su entusiasmo realmente tocaron nuestros corazones.
