CHRISTMAS IN HUAYCÁN

Navidad en Huaycán

A week before Christmas, on December 17, our team of volunteers went to Huaycan in order to bring joy and presents to our godchildren from the PRONOEI “Gotitas Del Saber”.( A public kindergarden in a shanty town ).

Ya en vísperas de la navidad  el sábado 17 de diciembre salimos camino a Huaycán, para llevarles muchas sorpresas y regalos a nuestros ahijados del PRONOEI “Gotitas Del Saber”.                   

     

During the trip, we coordinated with our volunteers about our roles during the sharing time with the kids… we prayed together for the success of our plans.

En pleno viaje, coordinamos con nuestros voluntarios sobre las actividades que realizaríamos… Y oramos para que el señor nos guie y todo salga como lo planeamos.

All hands on board!!....We were full of enthusiasm.… First, we began with a coloring activity. Each kid received a paper with a Christmas drawing ( the birth of Jesus).

Llegamos cargados de energía y nos pusimos manos a la obra… Primero iniciamos con una linda manualidad. Cada niño recibió una ficha con el dibujo del nacimiento del niño Jesús.

The kids enjoyed painting and beautifying their drawings.

Los niños se divirtieron pintando y adornando sus dibujos.

After that, they cut them out to paste them over a card we had already prepared.

Luego procedimos a cortar y pegar sobre una base de cartón forrada que ya teníamos preparado.

They also pasted over their cards the great message of…… “God’s peace and God’s love reign in your family”.

Por ultimo pegamos algo muy importante…el mensaje: “Que la paz y el amor del Señor reinen en tu hogar”.

Later, we staged a theater “The shoemaker and the little goblins”. It was about an old shoemaker named Jepeto who was so poor and he lived with his wife Jacinta. Both were not so fortunate and they sold shoes.

Tiempo después, presentamos una obra teatral “El zapatero y los duendecillos”. Narraba la historia de un viejo zapatero Jepeto muy pobre que vivía con su esposa Jacinta, eran muy desdichados pues no lograban vender ni un zapato.

Jepeto cried out the Lord for help and that night ,something amazing happened . Little goblins helped him to make wonderful shoes which were sold at a good price.. Jepeto and Jacinta thanked the goblins and they made clothes and food for the goblins and so they lived in joy forever.

Jepeto  le imploro al señor por ayuda, y esa noche algo mágico ocurrió; unos duendecillos lo ayudaron confeccionándole lindos zapatos los cuales pudo vender a muy buen precio.En agradecimiento, Jepeto y Jacinta les hicieron ropa nueva y mucha comida; y así vivieron muy felices y contentos.

Then, Carlos showed his abilities with the balls and gave us a great juggling show.

Despues, Carlos nos demostró sus habilidades con las pelotas y nos regalo un gran espectáculo de  malabares.

That is how we wanted to share a Christmas message to the kids in Huaycan: that it is more fulfilling and blessed to give than receive.

Es así como quisimos compartir el verdadero mensaje de la navidad, que es el acercamiento del hombre hacia Dios, y que no esperemos solo recibir, sino compartir lo poco o mucho que tengamos.

We also shared delicious chocolate milk with paneton (a special Christmas Italian bread) with the kids and after that, we handed out their presents.…

Compartimos una rica  chocolatada y paneton con los niños, y luego procedimos a la entrega de los regalos…

It was a wonderful day!! Thanks to God and to our volunteers, we brought joy to our godchildren and families in Christmas.

Fue un día fenomenal, gracias a dios y a nuestros voluntarios pudimos llevas un poquito de alegría y felicidad a estos niños que tanto lo necesitan.

OUTING TO HUACHIPA ZOO

PASEO AL ZOOLÓGICO DE HUACHIPA

We closed our annual program with an outing to Huachipa Zoo.

Cerramos nuestro programa annual con un paseo al zoológico de Huachipa. 

We are so glad that throughout the year most of our kids were very punctual. The outing to the zoo was not an exception. They arrived on time and were full of enthusiasm.

Estamos muy contentos que a lo largo del año, la mayoría de nuestros niños fueron muy puntuales. El paseo al zoológico no fue una excepción. Ellos llegaron a tiempo y estaban llenos de mucho entusiasmo.

Besides enjoying the outing, our kids passed the test of obedience to keep together and to respect the instructions of our volunteers.

Además de disfrutar el paseo, nuestros niños pasaron el test de obediencia en mantenerse juntos y respetando todas las indicaciones de nuestros voluntarios.

The turtle and the crocodile are so concentrated in their sunbathing.

La tortuga y el cocodrilo están muy concentrados en su baño de sol.

What kind of birds are they?...I think they are small parrots.

¿Qué tipo de aves son esas?....Creo que son loritos.

They look like Brazilian football fans because of their colors.

Parecen la barra de Brasil por sus colores. 

Woaahhh the kangaroo!!

Guau el canguro!!

This bird is so serious.

Esta ave es muy seria.

 What is that? Is a llama?..No it is a camel!

¿Qué es eso? ¿Es una llama?....No es un camello !!. 

They are llamas!!

 Now it’s time to see the insects!!

Ahora, es tiempo de ver a los insectos!!

Look at the big spider!!...woahh!!

Mira esa gran araña!!.....Guau!!

 Now, let’s go to see the dinosaurs!!...Yesss!!

We were so dizzy in the time tunnel.

Estamos muy mareados en el túnel del tiempo. 

Look at that dinosaur!!..Looks like a rhino.

Mira ese dinosaurio!!....Parece un rinoceronte. 

Look at the other one!!...Cave men enjoyed good barbecues!!..jajaja!!

Mira ese otro!!...Los hombres de las cavernas deben haber hecho buenas parrilladas!!...jajaja!!

CHILDREN DAY IN KIDS CLUB

DÍA DEL NIÑO EN NUESTRA CASA CLUB

In the last weeks of September, we closed Cycle 4 in our kids club. Our kids were not only tested in values and communication skills in English but they also had the chance to share a good time together for “Children’s Day”.

En las últimas semanas de setiembre, cerramos nuestro 4to ciclo en nuestra casa club. Nuestros niños no solamente fueron evaluados en valores y en habilidades de comunicación en Inglés sino además tuvieron la oportunidad de compartir un buen tiempo juntos por el “Día del Niño”.

We are glad that the younger ones have grown in the value of sharing during “Creation time”. Now, they cooperate more with each other.

Estamos contentos que los más pequeños han crecido en el valor de compartir durante el tiempo de “Creation Time”. Ahora, ellos cooperan más unos con otros.

The biggest ones grew in social skills during our “Chat time” through several sessions of Public Speaking and Theater.

Los más grandes crecieron en habilidades sociales durante nuestro tiempo de “Chat time” a través de varias sesiones de Oratoria y Teatro.

Now, get ready to start!! We started a choreography led by our cheerful volunteer Mr. Willy.

It was the first time, that our pre-teens staged a skit to entertain the kids…

Fue la primera vez que nuestros pre-adolescentes pusieron en escena un teatro para los más pequeños.

Most of the kids paid attention and caught the message of the story....Unity!!

La mayoría de los niños prestaron atención y captaron el mensaje de la historia…Unidad!!.

Now, it’s time to hand out their presents…
